Patrick Sampey

Patrick Lee Albert Sampey was born on October 27th, 1971. Now, at 50 years old, I look back on my life and realize that I've lived many different realities – and I've been many different people in so many ways:

  1. I've been a US Army man (1992-1997), having signed up for 46Q (Journalist), but was reclassified into electronics, 35E (Radio Repair), had a top secret clearance, and was one of the best electronics technicians the military has, or will ever see, and top performing soldier of the highest order, having served with the 1st Cavalry Division at Ft Hood, TX – then, with the 2nd Infantry Division at Camp Casey, Korea up by the DMZ – and finishing my enlistment with the best of the best, the 101st Airborne Division at Ft Campbell, KY. And what a wild ride it was; five years of my life I look back on with pride and accomplishment, hooah.

  2. I was a field service engineer.

  3. I was a junior business analyst.

  4. I have been a billiards writer since 2014, when Garret Troop of SPM (Sneaky Pete Mafia) accepted my first submission to Sneaky Pete Mafia magazine about Efren Reyes being the greatest player to ever play pool, and have written articles for both InsidePool and SPM.

  5. I have written two books, and am working on my third now.

  6. I have struggled with mental health issues and Bipolar, BPD, PTSD, ADD – and have championed an "End The Stigma Against Mental Illness" campaign to highlight the fact that so many people that suffer mental illness, but they are not a threat to society at large, and should not be made out to be raving lunatics on one extreme, to Mental health being minimized or marginalized by the mainstream media. Medicated, many people with mental health issues live normal, productive lives. My people have been scraped aside for too long now: END THE STIGMA.

  7. I have been a father, son, brother, friend, soldier, technician, pool player, billiards writer, Air Assault qualified soldier, patient, cable guy, warehouse manager, bench technician, radio repair guy, computer repair guru, amateur web designer, book reader, etcetera.

  8. Now, at 50, I'm pursuing becoming a writer of at least one best-selling book. That is my goal, and I am currently working on what I believe will be a bestseller, fingers crossed.

  9. I never quit, and keep on pushing, grinding – ALL DAY, EVERY DAY (except Tuesday and Thursday.)
