Bull Carbon Shaft Review By Garret Troop

There are so many choices in today's competitive industry of what a shaft should look like, feel like and sound like. The Carbon fiber craze started a few years ago and hasn't slowed down at all. There are so many choices out there that you can find exactly the look and feel your looking for.

I recently had the pleasure of doing a demo on the Bull Carbon shaft and here is my review. The shaft came with a Kamui shaft and that's a plus right there. Long Pro taper. I would compare it as a combination between the Predator Revo and the Jacoby Black. The feel and low deflection tendencies. The shaft fit my cue well and there was a little lip but nothing that cant be overseen.

Once you play with the shaft for a while you can really get a feel for it and see how the playability is smooth and easy to get used to. The taper is perfect to let your stroke out and still have control of the cue ball and table that you're running at that time. The finish on the shaft is total glass and they spent the right amount of time on the R&D. Kodo is the mother company and they make many other billiard things that are coming out soon.

The wall of the Bull carbon shaft is 1mm thick and that gives it the incredible feel and feedback in your hands. I mean the better player you become the more everything comes down to feeling and that's where I'm coming from. The thickness of the wall gives it a stiffer and better feedback to your hands when you play. The Koda Bull Carbon Fiber Shaft is constructed with 1mm thick carbon walls, surpassing all other competitors in durability. The Bull Carbon comes in two shaft diameters, 11.75 and 12.25, and is available in a variety of joint styles. This shaft comes with a black plate featuring a thin white juma tip pad equipped with a standard black Kamui soft tip.

Better than the Revo!

I ordered a Revo (12.9) several months ago. Don't get me wrong, it's a great shaft, but I'm accustomed to playing with a much smaller tip (11.75). Initially I was extremely underwhelmed, but continued using it for the next couple months wanting to give it a fair chance, but ultimately switched back to my Lucas shaft with the smaller tip. So when I saw this shaft with the 11.75 tip I decided to take a chance. I was nervous because I couldn't find a single review anywhere on the net. Well it arrived today and from my 1st shot I knew that this was the shaft I'd been looking for. All the smooth stroke, playability, and low deflection of the Revo, with the smaller more accurate tip of my Lucasi. I couldn't be happier! It's also worth noting that I upgraded to the Kamui clear black super soft tip and am extremely happy with it as well. If you're looking to make the jump to a carbon fiber shaft, particularly the Revo, save yourself a hundred bucks and get the Bull! You won't be disappointed.”

Bull Carbon Cue Shaft

Tip: Kamui Black Soft.

Beauty Ring:

Black Collar Shaft Diameter: 11.75mm.

Shaft Length: 29 Inch.

Shaft Taper: Gradual Rise Taper.

The gradual rise taper is more common on most cues today.

All in all it's a wonderful new shaft on the market and really the only complaint is the price tag. $499 is too much for any shaft on the market and this shaft is no exception. Other than that I have no complaints. It's great and gives you the feel and feedback that you're looking for with the precision of a laser cutter.
